RESIDENTIAL - INTERIOR DESIGN, HOME CURATION

Our client had recently purchased a newly built home and was uncertain about how to make the most of the space. She reached out to us for guidance in selecting pieces that would complement her daily life while maintaining a refined and sophisticated aesthetic. From the outset, there were a few essential requirements: - The pieces needed to be readily available in stores, as she wished to move in quickly and therefore opted not to proceed with custom-designed furniture; - A minimal amount of furniture, as she preferred a more open and uncluttered layout; - Simple yet elegant furnishings. The first step was to define how each area of the house would be used — mapping out the different spaces and the way they would be experienced, so that the interior design could naturally respond to those routines. At the same time, it became essential to rethink the lighting plan. Several light points were relocated, as the existing ones were poorly positioned and failed to support the intended atmosphere and spatial flow. Our concept centered around introducing natural elements such as wood and rattan. The home’s upper floor featured beautiful sloped wooden ceilings, which we wanted to highlight and celebrate. We complemented these textures with neutral tones that harmonize with both the timber and the white walls—since, given the time constraints, the client preferred not to repaint or add wallpaper. To bring a touch of personality, subtle pops of color were introduced through pine-green dining chairs and lilac accents in the living room cushions and armchair—our client’s favorite color. Ultimately, the selected pieces intended to remain simple, elegant, and timeless, while resonating with the relaxed, authentic charm of the Algarve.
